NOT WORTH THE MONEY.. SKIP IT
Purchased unit in November and have not been able to use it but 3 days. Unit will not turn on, and when plugged in it is making a very high CHIRPING sound. Called VINOTEMP and was informed that It was a model from 2008 and they would not honor warranty. Told I could PURCHASE A NEW BOARD for the unit at a price of over 65.00. After paying 300.00 for the unit I am not going to do that. I would not buy this again and am forwarding this to the BBB. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNIT AND COMPANY.
Loud and barely functional
The continuous, loud high-pitched whining which can be heard several rooms away was not part of the item description. And it barely hits the selected temperature. I tested it using two different digital thermometers. Not even close. I give it one stars since it actually does hold large bottles. If you can leave it sitting in a cool basement with lots of sound insulation, it's a good buy. Otherwise, skip it. purchased Feb 2012

The unit seems to perform reasonably well, although it is noisy. However, my experience with Vinotemp customer service has been awful. I have been trying to get a part for my unit for over one month. Ronnie and Diane, the customer service reps do not return voice messages. I have returned parts erroneously sent to me for credit, but did not receive it. I have left numerous voice mails, and emails for both individuals and have not received a return call. I seem to be out of option to handle this in a civil manner. I will now try escalating to their management or the Better Business Bureau. I don't believe I have ever dealt with a more uncaring group.
