Fun to watch in action, might be useful, seals wear out.
I got it for free almost a decade ago from my high school metal shop teacher who found a case of them for next to nothing. He used the plastic cylinder to help hold flexible metal things like chains while buffing. Mine was new old stock in box, and in that condition the seals were perfect. Back then I used it more as a toy and watch the water cyclone go round. When I finally thought of some legitimate uses for it so many years later I found that the momentary switch was dead and the gaskets did not seal like they used to. It still works, but I have to bypass the switch with wire and it leaks like crazy when the motor is stationary. Ahh well, it was fun while it lasted. I might figure out a way to fix it. Another reviewer said it was no better then a spoon. I disagree. If I mix cocoa and instant coffee into cold milk with a spoon there will be lumps, with the thunder mixer there are no lumps and the fake iced mocha is topped with foam- just like it's hot counterpart! Don't...
Thunder Mixer? More like "Call a plumber mixer"
This product might be the worst thing I have ever purchased. I could do a better job with a wooden spoon. Are blenders/mixers supposed to leak? By some miracle the electrical components of this thing haven't shorted out yet. If you plan on using it, be sure to have multiple (10-20) towels ready. I like to mix things, pour my drink into a glass, and then ring the towels into my glass too. It's usually almost half the drink that seeps out of the stupid thing. The product description claims it has a "super sealing lid" and a "leak-proof rubber gasket", what a blatant lie that is. I bet the guy who wrote that is laughing maniacally somewhere because he knew full well that every inch of this thing leaks. You would assume "thunder" mixer would imply that this thing has some actual power behind it. It could easily be defeated by a single meager piece of ice. Why would Hulk lend his name to such a shotty product? Do you think Hulk's wrestling career is as fake as this sad excuse...
Great Mixer!
My dad gave me this mixer when I needed something to mix my protein powder with. He had the mixer for a long time, and it still works perfectly fine for me! It's unfortunate for the other reviewer that they have leaks, because I have never had a leak. I actually don't even use the lid because it stays inside the cup, although I only put 4oz. of milk in with my powder, so it only fills about a quarter of the cup. As for using ice, I don't believe it's intended to be used with ice. This is not a blender. I would suggest mixing your drink, and pouring it into a glass of ice if you want it cold.
