Hamilton Beach HDC700B Coffee Maker

Good coffee, one major issue, couple minor issues
This review regards the Hamilton Beach 4 Cup Hospitality Coffeemaker (hdc700b). The coffee maker produced good coffee; however, it leaked water and had a few design issues.

I have dark countertops and did not notice the coffee maker's small water leak for some time. A small patch of mineral deposits on the counter top caused me to investigate further (i.e. I took bottom plate off of maker). It appears that the coffee maker was not manufactured properly (see accompanied photo). The black, metal bar, which secures the aluminum tubing, appears to have creased the aluminum tubing (see creased portion of tubing with color change). Obviously, this is a result of manufacturing, rather than normal product deterioration.

The coffee maker's carafe would drip when not poring coffee very slowly. In addition, the swing-out, which held the filter and grinds, did not latch well. In conclusion, I liked the coffee it produced and could live with the carafe and swing-out...
