oster toaster convection oven countertop TTSSTTVCG01
I bought mine at costco and am taking it back. The lettering is coming off the dials. The product works well but this is a design error that should be corrected right away. Its like having a oven and guessing where to set it and for how long.
Dangerous!
I bought mine at Costco when my more expensive Oster oven was looking the worse for wear. I decided to go manual instead of digital. I've had it about 4 months and it was fine until last week. I thought I had screwed up my cookie dough, but the thermostat had gone crazy. I put a corn dog in and within about 4 minutes the stick was black and the food burning. I'm lucky I wasn't upstairs or outside or I might have burned my house down. This is the second Oster product in the last 4 months that was worthless. Their can openers won't open cans either. Never again will I purchase an Oster product.
More than I expected
Given the other review I was hoping I wouldn't be disappointed and I haven't been. All in all, we bought this unit to see if we would get any use out of a toaster oven so we didn't want to spend a lot of money. I also bought this unit at Costco but have not had the issue about the letters coming off. The heat coming off the unit is easily dissipated and it seems to cool off quickly, so any of those concerns have been eased. The only problem I've had is finding cookware that will slide in easily. A 9x13 pan won't fit if it has any handles at all. The black pan that comes with it has a raised area in the middle so if you try to put small things like ramekins on it, they will tilt a bit. I find that irritating but I can work around it. I've been pleased overall with the performance of the unit and it's been used several times a week since I bought it almost a month ago. I like the convection option when I'm trying to brown things.
